They Fail to Factor in The New York Times Effect
In a previous article you got to see a study of the Fox effect, and the author’s overt bias. Along with that the New York Times effect was mentioned:
George and Waldfogel (2004) show that, in areas where New York Times circulation expanded in the ’90s, voter turnout in local elections decreased among likely readers.
So in essence, Pinch’a paper stifles the vote among those likely to read it, and we know that conservatives would rather read The Elder Edda in original text than the New York Times, so Democrat voters are less likely to vote the more they read the NYT.
